It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic.

Loads of Cliff Burton-era Metallica and Iron Maiden in a 2018 production. Fat layers of excellent vocals not heard since Dio. Form and function match up perfectly.
