lyrics
I'm standing alone on the edge,
the edge of my fears and fantasies
Courage and wisdom, my strength,
unravel the fate before my eyes
Out there's a world full of tales
of darkness, of light, of sorrow and joy
and chances to take or to pass
The book of my tales is opening
But where can I find the strength to go on
if the burden is too much for me?
Evil is there, always around in the sky,
on the land and the sea
Facing the storm, I must carry on as the
past keeps fading away
A new chapter's born in the rays of the dawn,
I go!
Solo: Virnes
But howling winds call from the north,
carrying the grains of the ancient feats
I glance at the sky for a sign,
visions of heroes of days gone by
The flame of life grows within me,
feels like I'm finally free
But the pages keep turning so fast
The ink of my life slowly drips away
But where can I find the strength to go on
If the time takes the better of me?
My life will be there, always around in the sky,
on the land and the sea
Facing the storm, I must carry on as my
time keeps fading away
A new chapter's born in the rays of the dawn,
I go!
Solo: Virnes
Where can I find the strength to go on?
Time will wait for no man
My tale has just begun
But now I fear the last page

It reminds me of *good* Blind Guardian, which is one of my favorite bands (up to 2002) , so that alone would be enough. However, it would sell the band short to describe them just as "a band that sounds like BG". The album has some genuinely brilliant moments and the last song on the album, the s/t one, is one of my favorite songs of the past years, absolutely fantastic. dungeonvic

Loads of Cliff Burton-era Metallica and Iron Maiden in a 2018 production. Fat layers of excellent vocals not heard since Dio. Form and function match up perfectly. FallenAngel
